Get ready for an enchanting evening as Paradyme Duo brings their soul-stirring melodies to Broadway 1st Baptist Church on Friday May 9th at 7:30 pm!
Having toured extensively across Europe and beyond, Paradyme Duo is thrilled to share the magic of their latest album “Be the Light” – launched last fall before a cheering crowd of 5000 in Dallas, and to bring that same inspirational energy to Winnipeg.
Imagine a night filled with a warm, friendly atmosphere as they sing their pop songs and ballads, creating powerful two-part harmonies through the church while Andreas plays the piano.
Not only will the audience experience the duo’s music live – tunes like “Another Chance to Fly” and “Dream and Believe” which many have seen on YouTube or heard on local radio stations – but Reg & Andreas will also share heartfelt stories behind the songs and from their life experiences.
The concert will have a break in the middle with a chance to do some mingling where refreshments will be provided.
Paradyme Duo is based in Denmark and consists of Canadian-born Reg Downey and the Danish pianist Andreas Flensted. With hundreds of concerts under their belts in over 13 European countries to stages in Pakistan, Canada, and the US – these guys put on a show that resonates with their audience.
Join them for a unique concert experience at Broadway 1st Baptist that promises to be a highlight.

KATHRYN ALLANA DICK
March 22, 1976 – August 15, 2024
Kathryn Allana Dick passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was beautifully unique and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was 48.
In her final days, Kay received compassionate care at St. Boniface Hospital Intensive Care Unit, but the severity of her seizure disorder proved insurmountable.
Kathryn lived her whole life in Winnipeg and attended B-FBC for years. When she turned 21, she moved from her family home to her own home where she lived the next 27 years in the care of Epic Opportunities.
From birth, Kathryn lived with daily medical challenges. She taught those around her valuable lessons about strength, joy and perseverance.
Kay is survived by her mother, Lynda Dick; her father, Robert Dick; her sisters, Michal-Joan (Mark) Jenkinson and Pamela (Brian) Rempel; her niece, Audrey Jenkinson; and her aunt, Jane Dick.
A Celebration of Kathryn’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Whyte Ridge Baptist Church, 2405 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg.
It’s “C-4” day! This could mean “Creation Care Community Clean-Up” or “C” you “4” a good walk on a (for-once) sunny afternoon in June, with some friends while showing some community spirit. Hope you can join us after worship service on June 30, 2024…

Prayer

Scripture reminds us that our God calls us to listen to his voice, and to discern together how to live faithfully in this world and to do that by creating space for His Spirit to guide us. Our God invites us to join Him at work in His world. We invite you to join with our Canadian Baptist of Western Canada Churches each Sunday during your worship service prayer time, as we collectively pray “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done.”

Sermon topic for January 16, 2022 inspired by Acts 15: 36-41
Carolling on Chestnut, December 4th: We met lots of appreciative neighbours and prayed for a fellow who told us, from his second storey window, about expecting a lonely Christmas after losing two loved ones during the pandemic.

Christian leaders across Canada are struggling with how to navigate increasingly polarized conversations with their congregations, families and friends. During seasons of change, it is common for perspectives to polarize and for people to struggle with talking well with one another. How do we, as Jesus followers, converse with divergent viewpoints and engage in active listening with a Christlike posture? What skills do we need to acquire to tackle tough conversations?
You are invited webinar with Dr. Betty Pries offers a practical and engaging learning experience, offering tools and practices for transforming polarized conversations. Join others from across Western Canada in this online Zoom space to learn together about this timely and important topic.

Building Blocks of Communication
Congregational harmony depends on our ability to engage in healthy disagreement with one another. This session considers the building blocks of communication, how these building blocks show up at congregational meetings, in the parking lot, and at potluck dinners. Together, we will explore how to use the building blocks of communication to enhance understanding and disagree better with one another, strengthening congregational harmony.

Let’s be a community together!
