The Youth here at Broadway-First gather every Friday and take part in various activities, lessons, games, and meals together. Karissa Durant is our full time Youth Worker who leads and organizes these evenings for our students.
Plugged In is a night dedicated for our Grade 8 to 12 students to come and engage in what it means to be a follower of Christ, be in community with one another, and simply have fun. We begin the evening reconnecting with friends, eating dessert and drinking hot chocolate and tea; then we begin our lesson. Beginning in September this group begun the “Alpha for Youth” video series, a series that engages youth about the basics of the Christian faith and how following Jesus impacts us daily.
Once to twice a month, larger events are held for all Junior High and High School students. Past events have included “Glow in the Dark Capture the Flag”, “Minute to Win It Night”, and “Photo Scavenger Hunt”.
“Each year, youth from across Western Canada gather for SERVE, a week-long ministry where between 200 and 300 youth gather to make a difference through community service projects. It is also a week of worship, making new friends, growing in your relationship with God, fun and stepping outside of your comfort zone.”
